Design for Flow, "that feeling of complete absorption when you’re engaged in something you love."
I have a graphic design background from Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago, Chile. Right after graduating, I founded my own graphic design and marketing agency. This experience not only enhanced my design skills but also expanded my expertise in strategy and management.
While running my agency, I noticed a significant shift towards digital design, a trend that Chile was lagging behind. To gain firsthand experience in digital design across various markets, I decided to leave my country and my agency.
I pursued further studies and earned an MSc in Digital Marketing from the University of Southampton in the UK. During this time, I developed a passion for user experience and became an advocate for users. This led me to an opportunity in Dubai, where my product design career officially began, and I haven’t looked back since.
I believe that experiences must exceed user expectations. It's our responsibility to understand and learn about our audience to create experiences that surprise and delight, making users fall in love with our products.
Early in my career, I read "Flow" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, which introduced me to a concept that has guided my work ever since. Mihaly describes flow as "that feeling of complete absorption when you’re engaged in something you love." Designing for flow has been a constant goal in my work.
In recent years, I've also become passionate about building, leading, and empowering design teams. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing the people you've coached and mentored shine on their own.
